HTML5's native audio and video players are very simple to add to a web page, in just one tag you can provide a media player that does not require a plugin to use. You can also create your own controls on the media player by using some JavaScript.
In early 2010 Youtube and Vimeo both launched beta versions of their respective sites using HTML5 players (instead of using the Flash video player they had before) for users to opt-in on using.
